The Talía Theatre in Valencia is a historic privately owned theatre.
It is located at number 31 Calle Caballeros. It was inaugurated in 1928, and belongs to the Casa dels Obrers de San Vicente Ferrer, a Catholic charitable institution that was born in 1908, within the associative movement of the early twentieth century.
From the beginning, the venue had a strong popular character, mainly hosting local companies, and performances in both Spanish and Valencian aimed at a poorly educated audience.
This cultural centre is home to the Museum of Prehistory of Valencia, the Museum of Ethnology and the Institution Alfonso el Magnánimo. The Casa de Beneficència was built in 1841 on the remains of the old convent of the Crown on the initiative of the Provincial Council. It consists of a succession of building bodies built around eight courtyards of tiled plinths, which clearly recreate the image of an eighteenth-century hospice.
Probably the most outstanding element of the complex is the church, erected in 1883 by Joaquín María Belda in neo-Byzantine style.
Rectangular in shape, it has a flat ceiling supported by a metal frame and a curious iron dome with stained glass windows, while the walls and ceiling are seen with paintings by Antonio Cortina imitating the aesthetics of the mosaics, with figures of Angels and saints, all this contributes to create an atmosphere of mystery that, properly illuminated, It would, indeed, recall the interior of a Byzantine temple.
At present the property has been completely rehabilitated.
La Rambleta (space for art and experiences) is an initiative promoted by the Department of Culture of the Valencia City Council. The Bancaja Cultural Center is the result of the union of two historic buildings: the headquarters of the old Caja de Ahorros and the Monte de Piedad of Valencia, from the early twentieth century, and the former residence of Manuel Gómez Fos, from the late nineteenth century. The rehabilitation, carried out in 2007 by architects Pablo Martínez Montesa, José Ricardo Martínez Montesa and José Alberto Jordá Albiñana, meant the union of both buildings and allowed the creation of the current Bancaja Cultural Center with an area of 12,000 square meters.
Various activities such asexhibitions, theater, music, opinion forum, conferences and seminars are developed.
The Carmen Center is a cultural and exhibition center dependent on the Generalitat. Its programming is managed by the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community that has its headquarters here. The Carmen Centre is a must-see for its temporary exhibitions and for the beauty of the old convent.
The Hemisfèric is one of the spaces included in the City of Arts and Sciences. It symbolizes a large human eye that opens up to the world through a pond of 24,000 m2 of surface. The “pupil” is the semi-spherical dome of the projection room that visually transforms into a complete sphere when reflected in the pond. While the “eyelids” are the toric vaults and the “eyelashes” are the glazed grilles that fold slowly turning over central lofts.
The L’Hemisfèric room, which can accommodate up to 310 people, has state-of-the-art technology. Thus, it has 48 slide projectors, video projectors, laser disc and Universarium, large format cinema, laser and a complete lighting system. In the same way, a multichannel surround sound system allows you to listen to the soundtrack through the speakers of the room, while the voice over is done through a personalized sound system. It was a pioneer, the first to be opened to the public and where for the first time in Spain you can enjoy 3 audiovisual shows in the same room:
– Imax Dome cinema: large format films.
– Planetarium: representations of phenomena in the universe.
– Laserium: audiovisual show.
It has the most advanced technology in image and sound and a projection system that allows us to contemplate 9,100 stars.
The Hemisfèric has a large restaurant and a room where meetings and presentations can be held in an exclusive setting. The perimeter ring, with an area of more than 2,000 m2, surrounded by a pond and outdoors, is protected by the spectacular roof of the building. It is the ideal setting where companies and institutions can give a touch of distinction and modernity to dinners, galas, receptions, awards ceremonies and other social events.
Do you like plants? Do the little ones in the house know how to take care of them? Are the leaves falling off? Is it yellow? Have you been sad for days? These and other issues can be resolved immediately thanks to the new plant office of the Valencia City Council. Because having a plant is not only a matter of beauty and decoration, the importance of its care is vital if we want them to be healthy in each season of the year.
Coming from a true “Plant Hospital”, NaTuria brings its specialist, “Doctor Planta”, to solve all those doubts that society has regarding the cultivation of its pots and other natural ornaments.
The Plant Office is a pioneering initiative that will allow us to offer an answer to the doubts and diseases that plants have. The citizen can visit the NaTuria facilities with their own plant (either a small pot, a leaf, a cutting, a stem, etc.), or make a consultation by sending an email and attaching images so that the doctor can make the diagnosis of their treatment. A good opportunity for children to learn techniques around floriculture and horticulture and take responsibility for caring for nature.

Cultural space for the creation, training and dissemination of works by young people in the field of audiovisual, stage and literature.
