The Centre for Military History and Culture It is responsible for the protection, conservation, research and dissemination of the historical, cultural, documentary and bibliographic heritage of the army that is in the custody of the different units, centers or military organizations located in the first sub-inspection center, which includes the autonomous communities of Extremadura, Madrid, Castilla La Mancha and the Valencian Community.

Under the command of a general, museums, archives and libraries from the first sub-inspection form part of this centre.
