Municipal Libraries

The Municipal Libraries of Valencia are governed by the following “Rules of use”.

The city of Valencia has 31 Municipal Libraries and their objective is to provide citizens with free access to information, knowledge and culture, making material resources, documentary collections and the cultural programming of the municipal libraries available to them, thus fulfilling the role that corresponds to them as an active agent in the promotion of reading. The municipal libraries have the vocation of being a space for interpersonal and social relationships, both face-to-face and online, interacting in this way with other cultural, social and educational agents in the city and promoting the integration and coexistence of ethnic and linguistic minorities or intercultural communities.

In addition to the Municipal Libraries, Valencia City Council has the Historical Library, Serrano Morales Library, Newspaper Library and Sound Library. This endowment is complemented by other libraries managed by the regional, provincial, state and private sectors, which complete a wide range of libraries available to citizens, the list of which is detailed below:
