They are part of the military complex built between 1870 and 1880 next to the old site of the convent of Sant Joan de Ribera.

The barracks to the south were once used as a cavalry weapon, which is reflected in the iconography used in the few decorative elements of the main entrance and the grille of the atrium. Slightly more elaborate decoration than in the case of its infantry namesake.

In contact with the Alameda is the noblest part, where the main entrance is located, resolved by a large landscaped atrium separated from the avenue by a fence of superb invoice.

The composition of the facades arises by superimposition and seriation of a common vacuum module, topped in a low arch, with ballasted balconies at the points of the main façade where other accesses are located.

In part of the façade on Calle Serrano Flores, the voids are collected in an
arched
format. The main courtyard is paved, to facilitate the evolution of the cavalry. The plinths of the façade are made of stone and the roof of the different pavilions, gabled, is made of tile.
