Concha Piquer House Museum

The House-Museum It aims to show the visitor, on the one hand, the experiential atmosphere of the actress' early childhood, through the recreation of the decoration and furniture of the time and, on the other hand, to publicize her professional career and public relevance, through the exhibition of various objects and materials. The ground floor is an open space that houses graphic documentation, personal objects, recording material and fond memories that bring us closer to the artistic world of Concha Piquer and her international projection. On this same floor, and in parallel, a representative collection of dresses and other pieces of clothing with which she wore her inimitable style is exhibited. All this is complemented by a recreation of its dressing room in which vanity objects, cosmetics and various accessories are exhibited that introduce the visitor to the everyday life of a personality consecrated to the world of entertainment and theater, object, all this, of the generous legacy to the House-Museum by the family. Through the original staircase leading to the upper floor, where a valuable selection of figurines belonging to his latest theatrical show Puente de coplas, designed by V. Viudes and V. Mª Cortezo i Rafán, leads to the old house where the artist was born in 1906. The space recreates the decoration and furniture of the moment in which one of the best Spanish voices of the twentieth century sees the light. The tour through such essential pieces as the hall, the parents' bedroom, the dining room, the living room where his mother also had the dressmaker's workshop, or the kitchen itself, suggest a laborious and simple domestic existence, as was common within any working class family.
