VALENCIA PHOTO 2023 in the Municipal Hall

Municipal Exhibition Hall

Opening: September 14 at 1:00 p.m

Twelve photographers in the Museo del Prado – José Manuel Ballester, Bleda&Rosa, Javier Campano, Joan Fontcuberta, Alberto García-Alix, Pierre Gonnord, Chema Madoz, Cristina de Middel, Isabel Muñoz, Aitor Ortiz, Pilar Pequeño, Javier Vallhonrat

In this exhibition, through twenty-four photographs, twelve views are materialized on paper that bear witness both to the evocative power of the Prado and to the creative capacity of those who have carried out this collection.

Belonging to three different generations and with very different ways of understanding and using photography, the authors have been inspired by the works that the Museum treasures, but also by the aura that surrounds them, by the building that houses them and in the people who contemplate them.

This year, two photographs were also awarded, one was in 4th position (1,197 photographers from 98 countries had submitted, with 4,129 photos).

The images in this exhibition could not have found a better destination, since, in collaboration with the “Baskets Aux Pieds” association, which works in a large number of hospitals in France and Switzerland, they have reached many inquiries of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. With virtual reality helmets, little patients can be distracted for a while from treatments and pain and immerse themselves in exceptional natural settings.

Bernard’s work has attracted the attention of the prestigious camera brand Leica, which has appointed him as an ambassador.
