The city of Valencia has 31 Municipal Libraries and their objective is to provide citizens with free access to information, knowledge and culture, making available the material resources, documentary collections and cultural programming of the municipal libraries , thus fulfilling the role that corresponds to it as an active agent in the promotion of reading. The municipal libraries have the vocation to be a space for interpersonal and social relations, both face-to-face and online, interacting in this way with other cultural, social and educational agents of the city and promoting the integration and coexistence of ethnic and linguistic minorities or communities intercultural
Además de las Bibliotecas Municipales, el Ayuntamiento de València cuenta con la Biblioteca Histórica, Biblioteca Serrano Morales, Hemeroteca y Fonoteca.
Esta dotación se completa con otras bibliotecas de gestión autonómica, provincial, estatal y privadas, que completan una amplia oferta de bibliotecas a disposición de la ciudadanía, cuya relación se detalla a continuación:
