INTANGIBLE ASSETS. EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS AT THE CABANYAL SLAUGHTER

What is intangible heritage?

Can it be quantified?

How can you protect something that has no physical form?

In a society like today, characterized by the predominance of a general materialistic attitude, talking about intangible issues can be a bit strange. However, with increasing force, the intangible heritage is acquiring more prominence within the plans for the cataloging and protection of cultural assets.

At Patrimonios Intangibles, we set out to recover and register some of those layers of immateriality that are part of the identity of the Cabanyal-Canyamelar neighborhood.

How? Through the architectural elements of its buildings. We used them as vehicles that allowed us to reach many other layers. Through the tangible, we were able to reach the intangible: we cast our rod into the sea of memory so that objects would act as hooks to fish for memories.

Our experience with material things and objects, through the senses, allows us to discover, recreate and imagine memories that ultimately transform them. Stories emerge from them that meet the imagination of those who contemplate them

We have drawn up a compilation document that collects all the experience gained in these workshops:
