On April 11, 2022, an unprecedented storm struck the east coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. In less than 24 hours, a torrent unleashed by a subtropical cyclone emerged close to the coast, turning the city of Durban and its surroundings into the epicenter of a disaster that left an indelible mark: 448 lives lost, 43 people missing, and around 40,000 people homeless. On October 29, 2024, Valencia experienced a similar event with the DANA, causing dramatic physical and emotional impact on both the population and the affected territory. Flood is a piece born from the coincidence of these tragedies, adopting a documentary-style poetics to explore the experiences of two dancers who endured these catastrophes in their respective cities, playing with the boundaries of the physical and emotional.
