The Rialto theater-cinema located in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento of the city of Valencia was built in 1939 on the initiative of the González Galindo family, with a project by the architect Cayetano Borso di Carminati. The project responds to the rationalist style, although with “Art-deco” influences.

In the subsequent rehabilitation, a room was enabled for the film projections of the Filmoteca de la Generalitat, a small room for theatrical performances, a Music-hall in the basement and the Rialto Theater that gives its name to the building.
