The Department of Cultural Action, Heritage and Cultural Resources of Valencia City Council, to commemorate this anniversary, offers citizens the opportunity to climb the tower of La Lonja on a continuous basis three days a week until June 2024. The visits will be led by an authorised guide and will last approximately 30 minutes.
The Lonja de los Mercaderes de Valencia was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931 and became a World Heritage Site in 1996, the only monument to hold this distinction in the Valencian Community. It is made up of a colonnaded hall, tower and pavilion of the Consulate of the Sea, spaces articulated around the orange tree courtyard. The tower is one of the most significant and distinctive elements of the monument, built in the first phase of the works, at the end of the 15th century, it was later rebuilt and crenellated, and consists of a ground floor and two floors.
Visits will take place on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at the following times: 11am, 12pm and 1pm, with an approximate duration of 30 minutes, subject to prior booking, until full capacity is reached, by calling 695500290.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. Those registered must be at the Lonja reception desk 10 minutes before the show. Only four registrations per call will be accepted. Visits will be in Valencian/Spanish and English.
Exceptionally and on the occasion of the commemoration of World Heritage Day on 16th November, the number of visits will be extended from 3 to 5: at 11 am, 12.13 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm.
