Claudy Jongstra & Marcos Luengo

‘Art, fashion and ecology’.

Performance

Almodí, 8 April – 8 p.m.

As part of the events complementing the Claudy Jongstra exhibition at the Almudín in Valencia, organised by the Department of Cultural Action, Heritage and Cultural Resources, in collaboration with Claudy Jongstra Studio and LOADS, the Consulate of the Netherlands and the Villa del Arte gallery, a performance based on the work of the artist Claudy Jongstra and the designer Marcos Luengo will be held on 8 April at 20:00 h. The performance will be based on the work of the artist Claudy Jongstra and the designer Marcos Luengo. Both share an artistic vision that integrates sustainability and craftsmanship in their creative processes.

Claudy Jongstra is an internationally renowned Dutch textile artist, known for her monumental wool installations and a deeply committed artistic approach to sustainability. Her studio, located in Friesland, combines art, regenerative agriculture and ancestral knowledge to create works that are not only aesthetically powerful, but also have a positive social and ecological impact. From the rearing of indigenous sheep to the cultivation of natural pigments, Jongstra re-establishes an essential connection between the creative process, the land and the community.

Marcos Luengo is a Spanish fashion designer characterised by a creative vision that fuses elegance, craftsmanship and a deep respect for raw materials. His work stands out for the care in the finishes, the sobriety in the forms and a constant search for authenticity. Through his collections, Luengo explores the balance between art and functionality, focusing on timeless fashion, conscious and connected to the individual expression of the person who wears it. His collaboration with artists and his interest in contemporary art enrich an approach where fashion transcends aesthetics to become a language.
