It is with deep regret that València City Council announces the death of José Huguet Chanza, a great specialist in photography, meticulous collector and dedicated historian, who worked tirelessly to recover the graphic image of València since the dawn of photography.
He was the director of the ‘Imatges’ collection, dedicated to the publication of photographers who left their gaze on the city, and of numerous books published by this City Council.
His vast collections OF PHOTOGRAPHY, but also of engravings, ephemera and toys are a valuable resource for historians.
We express our sincere condolences to his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
València City Council will keep his memory and legacy alive, ensuring that his contribution to the graphic image of our city is never forgotten.
