LA VENTAFOCS
Pauline Viardot
Salon operetta in three acts
Libretto by the composer based on Charles Perrault’s fairy tale Cendrillon ou la Petite Pantoufle de verre.
A theatrical, popular and surprising show. A lyrical show, based on the universal fairy tale of Cinderella, with lots of magic and fantasy.
The Department of Cultural Action, Heritage and Cultural Resources kicks off the season of open-air cultural activities with 6 opera performances in different neighbourhoods of the city.
This programme is part of the institutional collaboration that the City Council has maintained since 2016 with the Palau de les Arts to bring opera productions closer to the public, thanks to which the Les Arts Volant project arose, a unique and complex initiative but which has been a success due to the good reception and following it has received from the public.
Much of this merit lies in the effort to maintain a production at the highest stage level despite not being performed in an enclosed space, for which the technical and human resources made available to the project are decisive in achieving performances that are in no way inferior to the usual formats performed in conventional enclosed spaces, thanks to the spectacular stage-truck created expressly for this cultural initiative. Added to this is a cast of fabulous performers from the Centre de Perfeccionament accompanied by live piano.
La Ventafocs, based on the fairy tale ‘Cinderella’ by Charles Perrault, is the work that the public will be able to enjoy in the six touring performances scheduled for the last two weekends of September in Valencia.
The production of this salon opera by Pauline Viardot is the result of the fantasy and experience of Joan Font as stage director, who proposes a show that involves the audience in the performance of the singers, making it a modern, fun and very attractive show for the public.
