At the National Exhibition of Fine Arts held in Madrid in 1968, the second sculpture medal was won by the Valencian artist José Esteve Edo with a bronze figure representing a seated young woman, entitled
La niña de las coletas
.

Therefore, on June 25, 1969, it was proposed that the city council acquire a replica of the bronze figure for the ornamentation of a street or public garden.
In Fallas 2005, it was torn up and thrown into the street. The Monuments Brigade put it back in place.
