Cultura als Barris and Cultura a les Pedanies 2024

CULTURA ALS BARRIS

18 October / 24 November 2024

‘Cultura als Barris’ is a València City Council project whose aim is to expand the places, the audiences and the offer of free cultural activities for citizens, reaching out to the peripheral neighbourhoods of València.

Culture cannot be confined to certain spaces or to specific areas of the city, so we support an initiative based on the fundamental principle of CULTURE FOR ALL, offering a wide range of artistic proposals ranging from comedy monologues to opera, children’s and adult theatre, concerts of all kinds of music, dance, cinema and educational workshops.

Is a project of the City Council of Valencia, born from the will to bring to the citizens of these special population centres a wide range of quality cultural proposals in equal conditions as in the rest of the areas of the city.

The uniqueness of the districts, often configured as small villages with different socio-cultural dynamics compared to the Cap i Casal, offers the possibility of making the streets and squares valuable as spaces for cultural uses; We are grateful to the local residents for this proposal of active participation in order to enhance the value of the areas and the people, with the common language of culture in all its diversity of forms and proposals.

The democratisation of culture takes shape through the districts in this initiative which, from the Department of Culture of the City Council of Valencia, aims to support the decentralised management and increase the cultural offer of the districts of the North, South and West, with a programme of more than 50 free and open-air activities.
