The music of ‘El Llibre Vermell’ is based on a medieval manuscript bound with red covers and discovered in 1811, and corresponds to songs and dances to the Virgin Mary, in the search for spirituality while celebrated the night vigil. It has been the subject of study and research by part of important interpreters and musicologists and ‘Capella de Ministrers’ recovers it with the singularity of seeking the way of the pilgrims in the Mediterranean. The discovery in Morella (Castellón) of some frescoes with the dance ‘Ad Mortem Festinamus’ opens up a new vision of the music of these travellers and a direct link with other monasteries of the old Crown of Aragon.
For this repertoire, Magraner (viola da gamba and conducting) will be joined by the choir Lluís Vich Vocalis, the singers Víctor Cruz (baritone), Delia Agúndez (soprano), and the performers David Antich (flutes and aulós), Robert Cases (medieval lute, zither and harp), Eduard Navarro (shawm and lute), Robert Cases (medieval lute, zither and harp), Eduard Navarro (shawm and lute), Jota Martínez (hurdy-gurdy, lute and ‘tromba marina’), Elies Hernandis (‘tromba da tirarsi’) and Pau Ballester (‘tintinabulum’ and percussions).
