Library inaugurated on February 2, 1999.

Library inaugurated on March 9, 2002. It is located in two refurbished farmhouses in the Beniferri neighbourhood dating from 1840 and 1900.

The Hemeroteca was founded in 1902, when the City Council acquired the official commitment to preserve the newspapers and magazines published in the city to form a newspaper library that would be installed next to the Archive. These publications were joined from that date to those previously preserved by the Town Hall, a collection that has increased with the newspapers and magazines received daily as well as by the donations arrived at the Hemeroteca.
It brings together all kinds of publications but the local ones predominate and the most important titles appeared in the city since the primitive newspapers of the eighteenth century are preserved.
