Dos germans es retroben a les golfes de la casa familiar després de 16 anys sense parlar-se. D’aquí a poc temps, la casa ha de ser enderrocada i en Víctor, un humil policia a punt de retirar-se, i la seva dona Esther convoquen el germà gran, en Walter, cirurgià d’èxit, a una trobada amb el tassador per decidir el preu dels vells mobles familiars. Tot va bé, fins que els records fan despertar els fantasmes tancats en aquest vell àtic.
