Within the many initiatives that are being produced to encourage the population in these days of confinement due to the state of sanitary alarm decreed, the Delegation of Cultural Heritage and Resources of the City Council of Valencia brings the museums and their collections to our homes.
Thus, through the initiative ‘Museus a casa’, the citizens will be able to enjoy a wide range of cultural activities: details of the artistic works of the municipal museums, restoration processes, particularities of the internal work of the museums and other departments of the Historical Heritage Service, views of archaeological excavations, fragments of witnesses from neighbours, old photographs, and many other curiosities of the daily work are shown through Cultural València and its social networks, as well as the networks of the City Council. The catalogues of some of the latest exhibitions opened in the municipal museums will also be posted.
In addition, work is being done to transfer educational activity to telematic access. In this respect, it should be remembered that, although cultural centres cannot be visited at present, it is possible to request group visits throughout the year to all the museums of culture via the website.
In short, the Valencia City Council wishes to make its contribution to making Culture a useful tool for facing up to the current complicated situation and making it easier for the population to comply with the obligatory confinement measures decreed.
