The event will take place on Friday 17 April at the City Council shelter, which will host an afternoon of specialist talks focusing on the historical, archaeological and heritage value of these places of remembrance. Experts will take part, discussing the conservation, interpretation and significance of the shelters in the context of the Spanish Civil War in Valencia.
Meanwhile, over the weekend (18 and 19 April), the programme will continue with guided tours for small groups (booking required) to the shelter on Carrer Serranos, the IES Lluís Vives, the Ripalda-Sogueros falla, the Vedruna – Sagrado Corazón School and the City Council shelter itself. This is an exceptional opportunity to explore these spaces, as some are not usually open to the public.
These events invite you to view the city from a different perspective, to wander its streets and rediscover the physical traces of a collective memory that forms part of our present.
