The flute and guitar duo formed by Rubén Parejo (guitar) and Joaquín Gericó (flute) has been carrying out an intense work of recovery and promotion of Valencian music written for these two instruments.
Both professors at the Conservatorio Superior de Música “Joaquín Rodrigo” in Valencia, they are also full academicians of the Very Illustrious Academy of Valencian Music, which has been a determining factor in the performance of the activity that occupies them.
The warmth and solvency of these artists has been sufficiently demonstrated in the large number of concerts and recordings made separately, which endorse the favourable reviews and recognition they have received throughout their long career.
Today’s concert will feature works of a truly important chamber music level: “Serenata al Alba del Día” by Joaquín Rodrigo Vidre; “Imágenes del solitario”, by Alicante-born Rafael Rodríguez Albert, a piece very rarely performed since its composition in 1971; by Roberto Loras Villalonga, “Equilibri”, a composition dating from 2020; by the Valencia-based Argentinian, and recently deceased Claudia Montero, her “Suite de los Buenos Aires, and by Ramón García i Soler, a composer from the Vall d’Albaida, “Sonatina Ibérica”.
