Museum of Informatics – School of Computer Engineering
The Museum of Computer Science of the School of Computer Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Valencia offers an interesting journey through the last decades of the History of Computer Science. The museum was officially opened on December 11, 2001, and has been increasing its funds thanks to donations from individuals and institutions, both public and private.
Permanent exhibition
The collections that make up the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Informatics are distributed throughout the architectural space of building 1E of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In this exhibition you can see up close different artifacts of the three last decades of the twentieth century, such as a card punch, ferrite memory, large magnetic discs and tapes, high-performance workstations, home computers of the eighties, the first IBM PC computer, laptops of different sizes and video games.
Route and visitable space
The museum's exhibited collections and accessible to the public are located in display cases arranged along the three floors that make up building 1E. The tour starts on floor 0. The largest devices are located on floor 2.
